By  |

Questa news rimbalza già su tutti i media windsurfistici…. potevamo forse non pubblicarla noi ?

Cesare Cantagalli, founder of 99NoveNove brand, has recently spent a period in South Africa, going back in those places that 20 years ago were almost his second home!
Thanks to the collaboration of Paul Waggy of surf shop Bay Sport was organized a nice reunion night to celebrate the 30 years of the mythical Gunston Cup, the first international invitational Windsurf Wave contest in South Africa, won from Cesare Cantagalli. After this event the pictures of those beautiful windsurf spots were published in magazines and permitted to South Africa to become one of the most important destination for the winter period. During the Gunston Cup there were all the representatives of South African windsurfing history and also part of historical international riders that decided to live in South Africa. Klaus Walter (first testimonial for F2 brand), Olaf Van Toll (World Cup rider in the 80-90’s), Ivan Van Furen (National Wave Champion), Ralf Bachschuster (german athlete famous in the World Cup in the 80-90’s).
Cesare commented: “What a memorable night. It was wonderful to come back, find this welcome and meet again so many people. In the evolution of the sport was important to meet in Big Bay with so much enthusiasm and amarcord. I thank Paul of Bay Sport for organizing this night.”
After that, in the following days came the time to go into the water for Cesare. At the beginning he had few warm up sessions at Melkboss, then he went to Cape Point and in the same day he had two other sessions in Scarborough and Withsands, which refer the pictures!
Mr. Cheese Roll is back!
