Frugal Test
Partiamo dicendo che il Frugal è una tavola New generation con uno shape molto compatto e innovativo . Le misure di questo 88 lt sono : 214×60 e con 5 scasse slot box e 4 pinne Black Tip in dotazione 2×14 e 2×11.
A primo sguardo puo sembrare uno shape “strano” oh ma manca un pezzo ☺ ahahaha e la strap posteriore è molto vicina al bordo di poppa.
Ma veniamo alla prova in acqua : ho avuto modo di provarla piu volte nelle classiche condizioni nostrane (Toscana , Romagna , Sottomarina) , sia con vento Side , che On e schiume tipiche italiane.
Fatto un attimo l’occhio e bilanciato il peso piu verso prua , (guida piu front foot), la tavola galleggia bene e risulta molto stabile , grazie anche al volume è distribuito bene.
Supera le schiume facilmente , entra subito in planata e accelera velocemente ., probabilmente anche in virtu della poppa squash tail abbastanza larga
In andatura Risulta confortevole , molto compatta e sembra di non avere nulla sotto i piedi ,( sensazione che personalmente amo,) e ci si sente molto connessi alla tavola ,
lo stance tra le straps è nella media.
Nei salti , stacca molto bene ad ogni minima rampetta, , e in aria é facile da gestire .
In surfata curva molto stretto e si riescono a fare bottom veloci e radicali , ed il passaggio rail to rail risulta facile. Inoltre essendo molto corta e curvando molto stretto la manegevolezza si aumenta notevolmente.
La tavola tende a fare curve molto pulite senza mai scomporsi, gira molto bene anche in virtu del suo rocker pronunciato.
Per essere un 88 lt il Range è ampio la ho usata da 5.3 a 4.3 senza problemi , e  anche con vento da 4,3 si ha sempre il pieno controllo
Personalmente non l’ho trovata mai scorbutica e anche in caso di chop fastidioso risulta morbida in andatura .
Il Frugal puo essere utilizzato come Quad , Thruster e Twinzer , io l’ho provata sia in assetto Quad (pinne piccole avanti) che Thruster e personalmente il set up quad è quello che preferisco perchè la sento piu loose e piu grippy .
Come fine tuning preferisco mettere il piede d albero in avanti e le starps nei buchi centrali

VERDICT
Una tavola che potrebbe lasciare perplessi , visto il suo shape innovativo ,
A parere mio una tavola GENIALE , fantastica , molto divertente e completa, con uno shape ultra compatto e per me il feeling col Frugal è stato immediato
Un mix di radicalita , facilita e rilassatezza nell utilizzo . Risulta Facile e perdona le incertezze
Una tavola con un range molto ampio da usare trnquillamente in ogni condizione di vento e di onda
Per quanto riguarda rifiniture personalmente avrei usato viti piu grosse per le slot box e magari non a brugola
Mentre la costruzione NON COBRA , sembra robusta e sembra tenere bene anche dopo un bel po di atterraggi di piattone

Let’s start to say that the Frugal is a New generation very compact board and innovative shape .
The measures for this 88 lt are : 214×60 with 5 slot box and 4 Black Tip fins 2×14 and 2×11
At first glance this may seem like a “strange” shape (oh but missing a piece ☺ ahahah) and the back strap is very close the rail of the tail.
But let’s go to the test in the water: I got to try it several times in the classic homegrown conditions (Tuscany, Romagna, Sottomarina) with the both side shore than mushy on shore typically Italian.
You have to adapt your eye, and balanced weight more forward (front foot driving), the board is very stable underfoot and it floats very well with a well-distributed volume.

Exceeds foams easily , planning is immediately and accelerates.,quickly Probably by virtue of the wide squash tail .

In straight line is comfortable , IT feels very compact and seems to have nothing under your feet, (feeling that personally I love very much) and it feels very connected to the board

The stance between the straps is in the average
Jumps, take off very well every small ramp and in the air is very easy to handle
In surfing turns very tight and you can make quick and radical bottom, the rail to rail is seamless

In addition being very short and very sharp turning maneuverability is greatly increased

The board tends to turns very clean and never break down, turns very well thanks its pronounced rocker

To be a 88 lt the range is very wide, I used from 5.3 to 4.3 easily , even with the wind from 4.3 you always have complete control.
Personally I’ve never found surly , even if annoying chop has a soft feeling .

The Frugal can be used as Quad ,Thruster or Twinzer, I tried it both in Quad (fins small forward) and Thruster set up , and personally, the Set up quad is my favorite because I feel it more loose and more grippy
About fine tuning I prefer to move forward the mast track and straps in central holes.

THE VERDICT
 A board that could be confused by virtue its innovative shape,
In my opinion a GENIUS board , amazing , very funny and complete with a very compact shape, For me the feeling with the Frugal was immediately

A mix of radicalism, easiness and relaxing to use, and forgiving uncertainties
A super versatile board with a very large range for every condition of wind and waves

As for finishing personally I would use bigger screws for the slot box and maybe not Allen
While NOT COBRA, construction looks strong and looks proof even after a lot of flat landings.
